Lewis's Woodpecker near Lyle-Balch Cemetery
A Lewis's Woodpecker finds a mid morning breakfast near the Lyle-Balch Cemetery on an early spring day in the Columbia River Gorge. This back view shows the iridescent dark green feathers that usually appear black until the sun lights them up. The pink breast feathers outline the back and the head profile shows off the beautiful head feathers.
