The more time I spend in nature, the more I want to be there.  My goal is to capture everything I see with a photograph so you can see it too. My passion is wildlife and I want to show you the life and personality of each subject I find, so you’ll care for it as much as I do.  Something spiritual combined with luck and circumstance lead me to viewing opportunities, mostly in the Columbia River Gorge.  I have incredible gratitude for each gift of a photograph that I receive. An ethical conservation wildlife photographer, I will never sacrifice an animal or it’s habitat for a photo. I don’t bait, entice, disturb or harass for a photo. I sit quietly as a guest in their home, observing and documenting everything I find from bees and butterflies, to birds, reptiles and amphibians, to large and small mammals. I plant my garden to attract birds and butterflies, giving me endless opportunities to practice my skills.

I’ve sold my work since I was 16 years old, starting with macrame tie-dyed belts at the Rose Bowl Swap Meet back in the 60’s.  I also sold them to my high school teachers, neighbors and relatives.  I couldn’t stop making them.  To this day I still can’t stop making things, but now most often you’ll find me in the field with camera in hand.

I’ve taken pictures since I was ten when I received a Kodak Instamatic camera for my birthday.  I used my photography as studio reference material for 25 years as a visual artist until friends told me that my photos should be shown.  You can currently find my work at Made in the Gorge, 108 Oak, downtown Hood River, Oregon.

My ultimate goal is sharing nature with people who can’t see the magnificence of our natural world for themselves.  Not just shut ins, wheelchair bound, too infirm or too young, but also those that spend all their time at work or at home caring for others.  I especially want people who can’t get out to know how spectacular nature is, in our back yard and beyond.

I have many images available for prints on paper, metal and canvas as well as all-occasion greeting cards, bookmarks, mousepads, ornaments and magnets.  You can order prints in most standard sizes on any media.  See more of my work on Facebook or Instagram, where I post regularly.
