Hundreds of Sandhill Cranes in Flight at Sunrise Zoomed Vertical
A zoomed in close up and vertical rendition of ‘Hundreds of Sandhill Cranes in Flight at Sunrise’ over the Platte River near Kearney Nebraska. From the photography blinds at The Crane Trust, a most magical place to witness hundreds of thousands of Sandhill Cranes roosting on the river, then taking off in flight for their morning breakfast spot. This is one of my favorite images for 2023.

Watching the annual spring Sandhill Crane migration over the Platte River near Kearny Nebraska was beyond magical. We were treated to the photography blinds on 3 consecutive days at The Crane Trust property right on the Platte, where hundreds of thousands of Sandhill Cranes roost overnight. We were privileged to watch them fly out after sunrise or fly in before sunset. Needless to say, I took thousands of photos!
