Modestly Abstract
Image is manipulated with intentional camera or lens movement in order to blur the composition into an abstract. This modestly abstracted bird blind from Bosque del Apache in New Mexico was taken while I waited to photograph Sandhill Cranes returning to their evening roost. A slow shutter speed was used as I zoomed out from the hut-like blind, then further abstracted with darks, lights and compositional crops.
Choose photo printed on shiny, lightweight aluminum, signed by artist and ready to hang with wall mounting on back; or Kodak Lustre paper with artist name printed on back. Sizes: Image is photographed in an 8 x 12, 11 x 17 or 16 x 24 size format. If you choose 5 x 7, 8 x 10, 11 x 14 or 16 x 20, your image will be center cropped (the edges will be cropped out to make the image fit the space).
Print will be ordered from a professional photo lab upon placing your order. Allow 2 to 3 weeks for processing.
Shipped with sturdy cardboard backing in cellophane packaging.

I tend to get a bit bored after I’ve worked a scene and am waiting for others to finish; or if I’m waiting for action to occur. In those moments, when I remember to play it’s fun to see many variations of ICM or Intentional Camera Movement (or blur….or lens movement for blur). The last few years this technique has gained popularity, but credit must be given to those who went before. Ernst Haas and Kotero Tanaka both embraced it in about the mid ‘50’s. I learned about it in 2014 and although cool and fun to play with, my focus and passion remain with all things wild.
