Polar Bear on Mossy Carpet Covers Eyes
Polar Bear on Mossy Carpet Covers Eyes
A Polar Bear sits on a carpet of moss covered rocks and covers his eyes with a massive paw, next to an enormous rock. He had just scratched his back against this rock, after walking along the shoreline of a fjord north of Svalbard. You can see how impressively large his paw and claws are. An expressive photo, with a multitude of emotional captions that would fit. Horizontal Image.

Polar Bears are the apex predator, the largest bears in the world. I wanted to see them before they disappear, especially in Svalbard where the ice is melting 7 times faster than anywhere else in the world. I am so grateful for such an incredible and profound experience. I left my heart there and vowed to advocate for arctic wildlife. All images are taken from a respectful and legal distance, using a 600mm lens and many are cropped.
