Close up of Polar Bear Trek

from $4.50

A close up, zoomed in shot of a Polar Bear trekking across the rocky shoreline of a fjord north of Svalbard Norway. Caught mid-stride as he lifts his front paw over the rocky terrain. HIs white fur is still wet from a recent swim, hunting for seals. His face looks forward with determination. If you look closely you can see the points of his long, sharp claws.

Polar Bears are the apex predator, the largest bears in the world. I wanted to see them before they disappear, especially in Svalbard where the ice is melting 7 times faster than anywhere else in the world. I am so grateful for such an incredible and profound experience. I left my heart there and vowed to advocate for arctic wildlife. All images are taken from a respectful and legal distance, using a 600mm lens and many are cropped.
